Show Intro

"Evening all. Welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show. Here on the wonderful Planet Rock. What have we got tonight? Very eccentric mix of songs this evening. The next sixty minutes are gonna take us are gonna take s all over the place. Starting off with this bunch of reprobates."

Heavy Metal Kids

"What a wonderful cacophony of sound that band made. They are the Heavy Metal Kids. From the album Kitsch these days, it was a standalone single in '77, but it's now days found on the album as a bonus track. Heavy Metal Kids, the song Delirious."

The Ramones

"Now here's a couple of songs both starting off with the immortal one, two, three, four. However talk about chalk and cheese."

"And before that from the same year from the album Rocket To Russia we heard The Ramones with Rockaway Beach."

Yes

"Well we definitely had both ends of the evolutionary scale there with them couple of songs don't we. From 1977 that is Yes, title track of the album Going For The One."

Genesis

"So we went from punk to prog. We're now gonna go from prog to art rock. Starting off with Genesis."

"And before that Genesis. Who to my untrained ears when I heard that song back in 1974, I thought it was Argent. Do forgive me. The song from the album Selling England By The Pound is I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe), as you do."

Roxy Music

"I have to say I'm really enjoying this re-release of the first Roxy Music album. Fantastic packaging. Brilliant booklet with some great photographs in it. Three CDs, bonus materials DVD which also features of course what else but a Stephen Wilson remix. He does seem to be the go to guy at the moment. The song we just heard from that album called Ladytron."

"This is the Joe Elliott show on wonderful Planet Rock. It is time for a little break and when we come back, we're gonna head off into the dark."

UFO

"And before that we heard UFO from their breakthrough album in 1977 Lights Out. The song Love To Love."

The Who

"In my humble opinion absolutely the best right hand in rock and roll ever. Mr. Pete Townshend there leading the troops. The troops being The Who through a fantastic bit of work called Pinball Wizard from the album Tommy."

Slade

"Right lace up your boots and stamp your feet. This Slade."

"And before that from their greatest hits collection Feel The Noise we heard Slade with Coz I Luv You. Also I believe their first hit."

Lindisfarne

"From the wonderful songbook of one Mr. Alan Hull that is Lindisfarne from the brilliantly titled Nicely Out Of Tune album. The song Lady Eleanor. Their first ever hit single."

The Struts

"Now here's band that's still waiting for their first hit. But it's coming trust me, it's coming. This is The Struts."

"And before that The Struts from the re-released album Everybody Wants. The redux if you like. The song Black Swan."

The Tubes

"Right now I just cannot get enough of that band. I just absolutely love Fee Waybill's voice. They are The Tubes from their album 1983 I believe it came out. Outside Inside. The song No Not Again."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. Been a real pleasure as it always. I shall be back with you next week at the same time from sunnier climbs. I am off to California to do a bit of promo for the tour. Living the dream my friends, living the dream."

"Until then gonna leave you with this wonderful bit of work by Cockney Rebel featuring the great talent that is Steve Harley. From the album Psychomodo this is the epic Tumbling Down. Until next week see ya!."
