Show Intro

"Aye Aye. Welcome, it's the Joe Elliott show. Where else would you be?. It's Planet Rock. Good to be with ya. Hope you're all well. We have sixty minutes of what in my humble opinion is fantastic music. Let's head off straight away over to Boom Town shall we. Let's go and join Bob Geldof and his rodent pals."

Boomtown Rats

"When I first moved to Ireland back in 1984 I had a little apartment on the same road that Bob Geldof was born on. So there you go I am full of useless information. That is the Boomtown Rats from their collection Back to Boomtown with the hit single She's So Modern."

Thin Lizzy

"Let's stay Irish shall we. Thunder and Lightning style. This is Thin Lizzy."

"And before that Thin Lizzy from the album Thunder And Lightning we heard This Is The One."

Cheap Trick

"Glad to be able to confirm that they are gonna be the opening act for the Def Leppard Hysteria tour in December in the UK and Ireland. They are Cheap Trick, and from their second to last album. Which is still only about a year old. An album called Bang, Zoom, Crazy... Hello. We just heard Blood Red Lips."

Black Crowes And Jimmy Page

"Now Record Store Day is something that seems to get a lot of people's juices flowing. And why not there you are queueing up at midnight outside your favourite record store in the sleeping bag or in a lawn chair or something with a flask of coffee or your drink of choice. Waiting to buy that new rare single by your favourite band that just happens to be on some kind of florescent pink vinyl. Well here's a reminder of something that came out last year that's very, very cool indeed."

"And before that the Black Crowes featuring Jimmy Page. Live at The Greek in 1999, but not released until last year on Record Store Day with their great version of Misty Mountain Hop."

British Lions

"Written by the king of the Sunset Strip himself Mr. Kim Fowley. That is the British Lions from their debut album in 1977. It sounds a bit like kind of an attempt to rewrite All The Young Dudes to my ears. The song International Heroes."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show on Planet Rock. It's time for a little break and when we come back, it's a bit of a farewell to kings."

Rush

"And before that all 11 minutes and 12 seconds of Rush from the album Farewell To Kings with the absolute epic Xanadu."

Paul McCartney

"From the seventh and final album by Paul McCartney and Wings. The album is called Back To the Egg. The song we just heard Old Siam, Sir. One of the last hit singles he ever had."

The Clash

"So as we leave Old Siam, having previously visited Xanadu, I think it's time to head off to the big smoke. I hear London calling."

"And before that The Clash. Title track from their third album London Calling."

The Runaways

"Saw them at Sheffield University in 1977 and I tell ya, they definitely got the blood boiling somewhat. That is The Runaways from their debut album. The song Cherry Bomb."

Ringo Starr

"Right then pub quiz time. Who was the first Beatle to have a solo hit single. Answers on a post...nah, it was Ringo."

"And before that Ringo Starr. The first Beatle to have a hit single. although it was actually written and produced by George Harrison. The song It Don't Come Easy."

Roxy Music

"The song that brought them to our attention back in 1972, And boy didn't it because weren't they very different. That is Roxy Music with a song called Virginia Plain."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as it always is. I shall be back with you next week god willing at the same time."

"Until then gonna leave you with this bit of noise from 1976. The band are KISS. the album is Destroyer resurrected. Yes it's the 2012 remix of Shout It Out Loud. Until next week see ya!."
