DEF LEPPARD 2018 HYSTERIA Tour In NEWCASTLE, ENGLAND (Show Report)

Def Leppard played another show on the 2018 Hysteria tour last night in Newcastle, England with 17 songs performed.
The show took place at the 10,000 capacity Metro Radio Arena.
The band's first time in Newcastle since 9th December 2015 on the 2015 World Tour.
The 14th appearance by the band in this city and fourth time at this venue.
The first visit here was in August 1979 at the Mayfair. The first headline show after they signed to Phonogram Records.
The Mayfair would be played twice more that year in September (with Sammy Hagar) and then in November (with AC/DC).
They returned as headliners again in January 1980 at the University followed by another show on the same tour leg in February again at the Mayfair.
Their debut major UK headline tour in April saw them play for the first time at Newcastle City Hall.
This venue would be played again in July 1981 and September 1987 on the original Hysteria tour. The Pyromania tour show in February 1983 was played at the Mayfair.
After a gap of nine years the band played their first show at Newcastle Arena in November 1996 on the Slang tour.
Seven years passed before the last of their shows at Newcastle City Hall was played in February 2003 on the X/Ten tour.
The arena was then played twice more under its current name of Metro Radio Arena in June 2008 and December 2015.
Setlist/Staging
The 'Hysteria' album was played in full for the very first time in Newcastle.
'Dont Shoot Shotgun'. 'Run Riot', 'Excitable' and 'Love And Affection' were all played for the first time here.
The full Hysteria album was followed by five songs again. 'Action' was played as song #13.
Cheap Trick
Cheap Trick opened the show and again changed one song from the previous show.
