DEF LEPPARD 2018 HYSTERIA Tour In CARDIFF, WALES (Show Report)

Def Leppard played another show on the 2018 Hysteria tour last night in Cardiff, Wales with 17 songs performed.

The show took place at the 7,500 capacity Motorpoint Arena Cardiff.

The band's first time in Cardiff since 16th December 2015 during the 2015 World Tour.

The 6th appearance by the band in this city and fourth time at this venue.

The first visit was in October 1979 at Cardiff University with Slade.

They returned as headliners in February 1980 at the Top Rank Suite.

It would be October 1999 before they would return to the city at Cardiff International Arena.

Newport had been played before this on the 1987 Hysteria tour with six of the album's tracks being played in Wales for the first time.

The same arena was then played in July 2008 on the Sparkle Lounge tour under it's still current name of Motorpoint Arena Cardiff .

The third show here then took place in December 2015.

Setlist/Staging

The 'Hysteria' album was played in full for the very first time in Cardiff.

'Gods Of War', 'Don't Shoot Shotgun', 'Run Riot', 'Excitable' and 'Love And Affection' were all played for the first time here.

The full Hysteria album was followed by five songs again. 'Make Love Like A Man' was played as song #13.

Much like the Boise, ID show on the American tour the venue's lower roof meant no moveable video screens as this show. As seen in the Fan Videos.

Cheap Trick

Cheap Trick opened the show and again changed two songs from the previous show.
