Show Intro

"Evening all welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the fantastic Planet Rock. This week we are in Florida. Oh yes tonight it is Tampa. Last night we were in Fort Lauderdale where we had a visitation from one Mr. Nicko McBrain. They just finished their tour did Iron Maiden so he flew home and he said can I come down?. Course you can mate. So he was there and boy he could talk. Nicko is such a great talker it actually gave me the night off which was great. We also saw Paul Chapman ex Lone Star and UFO so what a great time we had it was like party central backstage at the Def Leppard show. And let's keep that party going for this next sixty minutes shall we. Here's a band that have been special guests on four of our stadium shows. And they will be very special guests on our UK tour later this year. This is Cheap Trick."

Cheap Trick

"So come this December on the British and Irish tour I will no doubt be side stage for all 12 performances 'cause I really love that band. They are Cheap Trick. That is the title track from their album Standing On The Edge."

Save The World

"So from a band I'm very familiar with to one that I've just discovered. This is Save The World."

"Strangely enough it sounded very much like the song before which is a band called Save The World. I've only just discovered them. The album is called One. They feature a guy that plays often with the Alan Parsons Project. And one of the guys that was in the band Staind. They put this together. They're based out of Nashville. The song we just heard. Great song is called Bleed."

Def Leppard

"I was listening to my device of choice the other day and that song just randomly came on. I hadn't heard it for that long I actually couldn't remember what it was. And then I went hang on that's me. Yes that is Def Leppard from 2008. That is ten years ago. Songs From The Sparkle Lounge is the album. The song Come Undone."

The Outfield

"Now occasionally I get an email from a listener saying will you please play such and such a song and yeah sometimes they're appropriate, sometimes they're not. This week I had a suggestion forwarded to me and I though you know what, yeah that is a really good idea. So I'm gonna play it. This is The Outfield."

"And before that The Outfield. A suggestion by a listener and this time a damn good one. From the album Play Deep their massive 1985 hit Your Love."

Billy Joel

"You may have read on your favourite rock website this week that your roving reporter went AWOL the night before Def Leppard played Fenway Park in Boston by going to Fenway Park in Boston and playing with Billy Joel. Yes, Billy asked me to get up and do a song with him. So in front of 46,000 Billy Joel fans I got up and sang Pour Some Sugar On Me with piano, saxophone and keyboards. It was very different bt it was a lot of fun. Sadly he had to drop a song to accommodate that. And what did he do he dropped my favourite song which is why I just played it. From the 1980 album Glass Houses that was Billy Joel with All For Leyna."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show all the way from Tampa in Florida this week. It's time for a little break, what have we got for you after that break? Well, I'm gonna let you muse on that one for a while."

Muse

"And before that, and I haven't played them for a while. God knows why I love them too. They are Muse. The Mutt Lange produced album is Drones. The song we heard The Globalist."

Roxy Music

"Actually that was another suggestion by a listener. And now we all know this is not a request show but I am open to suggestions and that was a great suggestion 'cause I would have picked it anyway. I love it to death. They are Roxy Music from the album Country Life with Out Of The Blue."

Hellacopters

"Right duck down everyone and hold on to your hats. This is the Hellacopters."

"And before that we heard the Hellacopters. A song called Before The Fall from an album called Rock And Roll Is Dead."

The Jam

"As you can imagine some of the drives from city to city in America are quite long. Some of them ten, twelve hours even longer. So it's good to have something to do. And I like listening to music. And I have a lot of box sets at home that would be just sat there gathering dust until the tour's over. So I decided to pack 'em all into a case and bring them out. And the pone that I've been enjoying a lot this week is the one by The Jam. It's called 1977 and it's basically everything they recorded in that year. Both their first two albums and some live stuff and some demos. And so I thought I'd play something and that was the first single I ever bought by the Jam it is the song In The City."

Greta Van Fleet

"Boys it is not. And here's the proof."

"And before that Greta Van Fleet. Flying the flag if you're a Zeppelin fan at least. The EP is called Black Smoke Rising. The song we heard Highway Tune."

The Struts

"As I've said often before I cannot wait for the album to come out. They keep teasing us with a new song every couple of months. Please put the record out boys. This new stuff is fantastic. They are The Struts. That is their brand new song Primadonna Like Me."

Show Outro

"And that my friends, all the way from Tampa in Florida, is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I'll be back with you next week at exactly the same time from Nashville in Tennessee."

"So until then I'm gonna leave you with this. Now although this lady was regarded as the Queen Of Soul. She influenced so many rock singers. She was an absolute legend. One of the best voices that we've ever heard and we are gonna pay our respects right now to the late great Aretha Franklin. Until next week see ya!."
