Def Leppard played an On Through The Night tour show in Southampton, England on this day in 1980 and a rare photo is available.

The show took place at the Gaumont Theatre.

The first show played by the band in this city located on the South Coast of England.

Vince has sent in a photo showing the band's name on the outside of the venue.

This was the 18th show of the band's debut major UK headline tour which followed the album release in March 1980. 21 shows were played throughout April with special guests Magnum and various local support acts.

A possible setlist is shown below as played at the 13th April show in London.

The band played a show the following day at the New Theatre in Oxford. A show that was officially recorded and is soon to be released according to one of Joe's recent interviews.

The band returned to this venue as The Mayflower in September 1987 on the first UK Hysteria tour. The only time they have been back to this city.
