Uniondale, NY - Media Reviews

Def Leppard rocks the new Nassau Coliseum on Long Island By Markos Papadatos

On April 15, classic rock band Def Leppard performed at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, where they shared the stage with Poison and Tesla.

Both opening acts were incredible, and they were able to get the stage warmed up for Def Leppard.

When Def Leppard took the stage, the response from the New York audience was tremendous. They kicked off their set with "Let's Go," and it was followed by "Animal" and "Let It Go." Lead singer Joe Elliott and lead guitarist Phil Collen were in top-notch form.

They immediately broke into such hits as "Dangerous," "Foolin'," their No. 1 single "Love Bites," and the fan-favorite "Armageddon It." With "Rock On," they paid homage to the music of David Essex.

This journalist's personal favorite tune is the nostalgic "Hysteria," and they closed their set with "Let's Get Rocked" and their popular hit "Pour Some Sugar On Me," where the entire venue was reciting the lyrics verbatim. For the encore, the group came back to sing "Photograph" and "Rock of Ages."

The Verdict

Overall, Def Leppard proves time and time again that they deserve to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. All band members were superb as a whole. They are one of the best touring live rock bands in the world, and all of their songs are classics. Their Nassau Coliseum show garnered an A rating.
