Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. This week it is coming to you from Sao Paulo in Brazil. We just arrived here yesterday having played Rock In Rio on Thursday night. And what a night that was. Live in front of 100,000 people, live on the Internet, live on TV, first show in nine weeks. No pressure then!, but it was a great night and this is gonna be a great show because we are starting it off with The Struts."

The Struts

"New album due very soon I'm led to believe. Until then we shall just enjoy their first album. The album is Everybody Wants. The band are The Struts. The song we just heard there, Where Did She Go."

T. Rex

"So just after last week's show finished I received an email, quite irate email actually, from one of my listeners saying that I hadn't mentioned the 40th anniversary of Marc Bolan's death. And quite rightly too. Naughty Joe, I should've said something and I should've played something. So let's put that right now shall we."

"And before that, albeit a week late, we celebrated the sad death, the 40th anniversary of the passing of Marc Bolan. We heard Children Of The Revolution by T. Rex."

Sparks

"Complete return of form there for Sparks. Not that they ever really lost it. But that is brand new from the album Hippopotamus with the fantastically titled So Tell Me Mrs Lincoln, Aside From That How Was The Play?."

Deep Purple

"OK time for a little bit of modern day Deep Purple."

"And before that from their brand new album Infinite, Deep Purple with Birds Of Prey."

Creedence Clearwater Revival

"One of the few American bands to have hit after hit after hit in the UK in the early to mid 70s. That is Creedence Clearwater Revival from the album Cosmo's Factory with Up Around The Bend. Once covered actually by Hanoi Rocks."

"So as I was sat in the bar at Houston airport waiting for my flight down to Rio. I was sat with Anita Strauss, current plank spanker with Alice Cooper. And I said; 'Ooh, are you playing such and such a song in the set?'. And she said: 'Yes we are'. And I said; 'Hooray!'. Well, we'll hear it after the break."

Alice Cooper

"And before that yes it is the set. So hopefully it will still be in the set when they come to the UK later on in the year. Alice Cooper from the 1971 album Killer with the most wonderful Halo Of Flies."

Aerosmith

"So as I go back to my room after Rock In Rio on Thursday evening, I dropped my bag and I turn on the TV and voila, there they were in all their glory. Aerosmith playing that actual song as I turned on the TV. And they were on top form on Thursday night. Really, really great to see them. They were just, they played fantastic. Went down a storm. That is of course Aerosmith from the album Toys In The Attic with Sweet Emotion."

Fall Out Boy

"OK let's hear something from the band that went on just before us. This is Fall Out Boy."

"And before that we heard Fall Out Boy from their album From Under The Cork Tree with a song called, bit like the Sparks song really, crazy title. Our Lawyer Made Us Change The Name Of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued, as you do."

Ace Frehley

"Getting his New York Groove on that is Ace Frehley from his debut solo album. When every member of KISS released a solo album on the same day back in 1978. Cover of an old song by a Glam Rock band called Hello actually."

Billy Idol

"Right well, Fall Out Boy performed at Rock In Rio because this particular gentleman pulled out."

"And before that Billy Idol title track from the album Rebel Yell. Shame he didn't get to do Rock In Rio. I was really looking forward to seeing Steve Stevens who of course you may well know I play with on occasions with the Kings Of Chaos."

Nazareth

"As I like to call them, Dunfermline's finest and didn't they have some great songs. Pulled from their greatest hits collection that is Nazareth with Bad Bad Boy."

Show Outro

"And that my friends all the way from Sao Paulo in Brazil is about it for this week. Been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week from Santiago in Chile."

"Until then I'm gonna leave you with one of my favourites. Always have been and always will be. Cheap Trick. From the album Standing On The Edge this is How About You. Until next week see ya!."
