Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the fantastic Planet Rock. I will be with you tonight for the next sixty minutes, and for the next three minutes and fifty two seconds. So will Cheap Trick."

Cheap Trick

"What a fantastic way to start off any radio show. An absolute classic slice of pure power pop by Cheap Trick from 1979. The album Dream Police, the song I'll Be With You Tonight."

The Move

"And talking of tonight, here's a band that was enormous influence on Cheap Trick. This is The Move."

"And before that we heard The Move. Actually from a Roy Wood collection album called Music Book with the massive hit single from 1970, Tonight."

T. Rex

"And that my friends is where Marc Bolan and T. Rex caught me hook, line and sinker. The follow-up to the smasharoo breakthrough single Ride A White Swan. That is Hot Love. Initially a standalone single. Later to be found on the compilation Bolan Boogie which is where I pulled it from tonight."

Frankie Miller

"Right then over to a gentleman who could sing the menu from a Chinese chippie and make it sound good. This is Frankie Miller."

"And before that Frankie Miller. Absolutely magnificent vocals. The album Full House. One of his more better known songs Be Good To Yourself."

Delta Deep

"I really, really like that song. In fact I really, really like that album. That is Phil Collen's side project Delta Deep. The album is called Delta Deep. The song Down In The Delta. For the fans of the band there's a live album coming out soon that was recorded at Daryl's Place. As in Daryl Hall. As in Hall And Oates. He has a TV show on in the States and he invites people in to his bar to play. Phil recorded it, it turned out really well. I'm not sure of the release date, but when I do know I will let you know."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show right here on Planet Rock. It's time for a little break and when we come back, we're going on a very long journey with Mott The Hoople."

Mott The Hoople

"Before that we heard Mott The Hoople from their last album on Island Records. 1972, just before David Bowie bailed them out, if you like. The album in Brain Capers. The song, The Journey."

Sutherland Brothers & Quiver

"That is the Sutherland Brothers & Quiver with the song called Dream Kid. A band with the dubious distinction of once being booed off stage in Germany for playing one of their own songs. Little did the audience know that the song that was at Number One for maybe about three months at the time, Sailing by Rod Stewart, was actually written by Sutherland Brothers & Quiver. But they didn't know that. So they thought they were doing a cover of a Rod Stewart song and they weren't so keen. Strange how the Internet has kind of tidied things up like that. It doesn't really happen any more."

John Miles

"And taking a journey up to Geordie land. This is John Miles."

"And before that we heard John Miles from his debut album Rebel with his first ever hit single, a song called Highfly."

The Who

"Seems like a hidden theme in this week's show is the journey right. The journey, the 5:15 train from London to Brighton. A major part of the album Quadrophenia. And still a major part of The Who's set these days. As I can testify having just played a show with them in Porto Alegre in Brazil where they did a fantastic live version of said song."

Joan Jett & The Blackhearts

"Right then over to you ladies."

And before that Joan Jett & The Blackhearts from the album Fit To Be Tied and there is a fantastic version of Joan Jett doing that with the Foo Fighters on YouTube. Check it out. The song, Bad Reputation.

Suzi Quatro

"Yes anybody that says ladies can't rock, they haven't got their listening ears on have they?. That is fantastic stuff. Suzi Quatro all those years ago screaming her way to the top of the charts with 48 Crash."

Show Outro

"And that's about it for this week. It's been a pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at the same time."

"Let's keep the energy of those last two songs up for this last number shall we. Generally regarded as the first ever Punk Rock release. This is The Damned with the wonderful New Rose. Until next week see ya!."
