"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. We have in my humble opinion tonight sixty minutes of amazing music. Starting off with this beauty by Tin Machine."

Tin Machine

"Often regarded as a bit of a vanity project for Mr. David Bowie was that band. But I kind of beg to differ really. I think he made a real effort at trying to get the kind of Spiders From Mars vibe back together using the Sale twins that worked with Iggy Pop. So he had a kind of a Punk/ New Wave feel about everything. It didn't really take off, but it was an interesting idea and it was wirth a try. From their debut album that is Tin Machine with Under The God."

Tyrannosaurus Rex

"Now David Bowie's best mate back in those days and nemesis to boot was one Mr. Marc Bolan. Here under the guise of Tyrannosaurus Rex, is his first stab at the UK charts."

"And before that Tyrannosaurus Rex with their first attempt at the charts. It didn't really happen. But it kinda, it started rippling the wavbes if you like. From an album these days. A bonus track on an album called My People Were Fair and Had Sky in Their Hair... But Now They're Content to Wear Stars on Their Brows. As you do. The song Debora."

Robert Plant

"I'm really liking this new Rober Plant album. It's very chill man. And that's pretty handy because he's gonna be in Dublin in December. So I get to see him play some of this live. The album is Carry Fire. The song we just heard The May Queen. Nice tip of the hat to 'that other song'."

Aerosmith

"Right then time to get in the exterminators. This is Aerosmith."

"And before that from the album Rocks we heard Aerosmith with Rats In The Cellar."

The Who

"A couple of bands back to back there that Def Leppard had the absolute pleasure of playing with just a month or so ago in South America. That from the Thirty Years of Maximum R&B box set is The Who with Relay."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. After the break, for you Pink Floyd fans. Well it's kind of a reunion. Sort of, but not really."

David Gilmour

"And before that Dave Gilmour from his most excellent soundtrack from the movie/DVD if you like, Live At Pompei. The song we heard, In Any Tongue."

Roger Waters

"Well my talk on this whole situation is as follows. One of the previous gentleman is more keen on the lyrics than the music. And the other gentleman is more keen on the music than the lyrics. And the compromise could not be kept together any longer so they went their separate ways. And I played them back to back to give us a sort of psuedo reunion if you like. As regards Roger Waters, it's very difficult to pick a track from his new album to play because in his dotage he has developed quite a potty mouth. But I did find one. the album is called Is This The Life We Really Want?. The song we heard, Smell The Roses."

Pink Floyd

"Well after those two battling it out together we could hardly leave poor old Syd out could we?."

"And before that Pink Floyd. The very early years Pink Floyd featuring the oh so eccentric Syd Barret. The song See Emily Play."

Swag

"The band are called Swag. They are obviously huge fans of The Beatles. The album is called Catch All. The song we just heard, Eight."

The Runaways

"Couple of weeks ago we had Elton John turning into a bit of a Pyromaniac when he burnt down the mission. This week it's the turn of the Queens of noise."

"And before that The Runaways from their 1977 second album Queens Of Noise with I Love Playin' With Fire."

The Clash

"Mick Jones was the yin to Joe Strummer yan in that band and what a great example that song is. From the album London Calling. Produced by the legendary Guy Stevens. That is The Clash with Train In Vain."

Show Outro

"Until then gonna leave you with this. I had an email in from a listener this week. What is my favourite AC/DC song?. Not hard to pick. From the album Highway To Hell. We toured with them for three weeks in the UK in 1979. They never played this song 'cause they didn't like it. But I love this song to death. This is AC/DC and Touch Too Much.
