Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the fantastic Planet Rock. What do we have tonight?. We have sixty minutes of magnificent music. One hour of power. Starting off with the British Lions."

British Lions

"Rising like a phoenix from the ashes of the then defunct Mott back in 1977. That is the British Lions featuring the great talents of one Mr. John Fiddler. Ex of Medicine Head. He became their main songwriter for the two albums that they did release. That is a track from the debut album. A song called Booster."

The Stooges

"Right then back to 1969. Literally 1969. This is The Stooges."

"And before that The Stooges from their debut album back in 1969 with a song called, ironically, 1969."

Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers

"Still trying to get my head around the fact that he's gone. That is Tom Petty with his band The Heartbreakers. From an album called She's The One. One of his least known records, but absolutely one of his best. The song is called Climb That Hill."

Stone Temple Pilots

"Right to another band who sadly lost their central figure way too soon. This is the Stone Temple Pilots."

"And before that the Stone Temple Pilots from the album Shangri-La Dee Da. Great title. The song Dumb Love."

Cheap Trick

"There's been a lot of Beatles documentaries on TV over the last few days. So I kind of figured I'd bring The Beatles into the show tonight, but with a bit of a twist. That is of course Magical Mystery Tour, but it is Cheap Trick from their Best Of collection, actually one of many Best Of collections they have out."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show right here on Planet Rock. It's time for a little break and when we come back. Well, we're gonna have a bit of a rant from Ian Hunter."

Ian Hunter

"And before that Ian Hunter from his return to form album in 2001. The album is Rant. The song we heard Morons."

UFO

"Weren't they just the most brilliant band live in 1977/78. If you saw them live, and I did, they ere magnificent. They are UFO and there from their breakthrough album Lights Out we heard Electric Phase."

James Whild Lea

"A couple of weeks ago I played two songs back to back from artists from round about the Black country area. Well here's two more from the Midlands. Who certainly left their footprint in the tapestry of this wonderful UK music scene that we love and adore. And I hope that you put the kettle on during the break because this stuff is pretty chill. This is James Whild Lea."

"And before that James Whild Lea. Or better known to us as Jimmy Lea from Slade. Their bass player, pianist and violinist. He had an album called Therapy. Yes, little tip of the hat there to the Beach Boys, but why not?. The song Heaven Can Wait."

Roy Wood

"I am a sucker for strings. I will be the first to put my hand in the air and admit that. And nobody, nobody did it better than Roy Wood. From his collection Music Book that is Dear Elaine."

Yes

"OK more strings. This is Yes."

"And before that Yes from the album Big Generator. More strings, gotta love it. The song Love Will Find A Way."

Black Star Riders

"I spoke to Mr. Warwick a couple of days ago. He's in great form. He was in Sheffield having just played Hull and the tour is going spiffingly. They are the Black Star Riders from their latest album Heavy Fire that is Testify Or Say Goodbye."

Show Outro

"Well as the Black Star Riders asked us if we should Testify Or Say Goodbye. I think I'll pass on the testifying and just, for this week at least, say goodbye. It has been a real pleasure as always and I really mean that, it always is. I shall be back with you next week god willing at the same time for more wonderful music."

"Until then where shall we go?. Well he's just finished his UK tour. And I'm sure we will see him, and I will see you, and you'll see me somewhere down the Dynamite Road. This is Alice Cooper. Till next week see ya!."
