Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. What a great sixty minutes worth of music we have for you tonight. Starting off with this leg shaker from AC/DC."

AC/DC

"I saw Johnno (Brian Johnson) just a couple of weeks ago when Def Leppard played in Florida. We had a night off and he very kindly invited me round for dinner with one of his neighbours. And it would probably take a certain kind of listener to understand the significance of me and him, after a couple of glasses of wine, singing Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes by Edison Lighthouse. Oh what fun we had. AC/DC from the album Back In Black with Shake A Leg."

New York Dolls

"Well it's all theatre isn't it?. Well, these next two songs are. This is the New York Dolls."

"And before that the New York Dolls from their second album Too Much Too Soon with the wonderful Stranded In The Jungle."

Utopia

"From their 1977 epic album Ra that is Todd Rundgren's Utopia with Magic Dragon Theatre."

Pink Fairies

"Now here's a couple of songs that wish they were something else. Starting off with the kings of oblivion themselves. The Pink Fairies."

"And before that the Pink Fairies from their album Kings Of Oblivion. Having yet another freak out, just like they did with Uncle Harry with a song called I Wish I Was A Girl."

Mott The Hoople

"What an absolute epic lyric that is and a great song to boot. Mott The Hoople from 1973. The album Mott. The song I Wish I Was Your Mother."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show on Planet Rock. It's time for a little break and when we come back Alex Harvey. Or should I say?. The Sensational Alex Harvey Band are gonna tell us all about what it's like to be in a talent competition."

Sensational Alex Harvey Band

"Some time back in the late 50s a young man in Glasgow entered a talent competition and won and became Scotland's Tommy Steele. Many years later he would form a band and write a song about it. The guy Alex Harvey, the band the Sensational Alex Harvey Band. And from their 1973 album Next. that is The Last Of The Teenage Idols."

U2

"Now this next band also entered a talent competition back in Dublin about 1978. And they came second."

"And before that U2 from their Best Of 1990-2000. Also on the Original Soundtrack of Batman Forever. We heard the song Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me."

Ricky Warwick

"It's hard to think that that's actually 15 years old now. That's Ricky Warwick from his album Tattoos And Alibis. Recorded at Joe's Garage actually in 2002. The song Three Sides To Every Story."

Thin Lizzy

"OK staying firmly on the other side of the Irish Sea for just a little while longer. Here's one of the best Irish poets to ever walk the earth. Take it away Phil Lynott."

"And before that Thin Lizzy. Absolutely fantastic stuff from their 1977 album Johnny The Fox with the song Fool's Gold.

Swag

"Indie rock at it's most Beatle-esque right there. That's a band called Swag. The album is called Catch All. The we just heard Please Don't Tell."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a pleasure as always. I shall be back with you god willing next week at the same time."

"Until then I'm gonna leave you with something old, new, borrowed and blue. Yep, you got it. This is Slade and Don't Blame Me. Until next week see ya!."
