Def Leppard Now Confirmed To Play Rock In Rio Brazil In September

Def Leppard have today been confirmed to play the Rock In Rio festival in Brazil this September alongside Aerosmith.

The festival organisers made the announcement earlier today confirming the rumours by the local press in recent days/weeks.

They will play before headliners Aerosmith on Thursday 21st September on the main World Stage (Palco Mundo) with Billy Idol and Scalene also on the bill.

Tickets for the festival go on sale on 6th April.

As mentioned a few days ago further dates with Aerosmith in Santiago, Chile in September and Buenos Aires, Argentina in the first week of October might be confirmed soon.

The last (and only) South American tour by the band was in April 1997, almost 20 years ago, and only Joe has since been back for a few shows with Rock 'n' Roll All-Stars and Kings Of Chaos.

Def Leppard had been due to play the original Rock In Rio festival in January 1985 at two shows supporting AC/DC and Queen. They pulled out before Rick's car accident to continue working on 'Hysteria'.
