Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen spoke to Sirius radio last night about the upcoming tour with Poison.

The full 38 date 2017 North American tour was announced on 12th January.

Phil talked to (tour date leaker) Eddie Trunk about the tour and he also shared a story about Poison guitarist CC DeVille.

Poison were first due to open for Def Leppard in April 1988 in the UK during the Hysteria world tour.

Many posters and tickets had their logo printed on them but they backed out and were replaced by Loverboy.

They went on to open on the 2009 US tour and then again in 2012 on the second Rock Of Ages tour.

Apart from two one off shows in 2013 the 2012 tour was the last time the band toured together.

Sav told a UK DJ in 2012 that each member of Poison uses a different tour bus from the others and they rarely hang out or interact with each other but were "very entertaining for the crowd".

Sirius XM - Phil Collen Interview Quotes

Def Leppard/Poison Touring Again

"You know whenever you go on tour, everyone goes, 'Well do you choose the band?' And you don't really, it's like who's available at the time. I heard rumours that we were going out with Poison and I thought, I don't think so. This was like last year. You know I thought we were just gonna continue our, the tour, you know the Def Leppard album tour. You know kind of take it into this year, which essentially is what we're doing."

"But I guess you know instead of in second place, you know we had Styx and REO, it was Poison and I'd heard rumours before. But when it got solidified it was great. We get on so amazing. CC phoned me as soon as we all solidified it. You know I love him. I love the band. They're great. They're great guys and we've known them for ages as well. So yeah it's gonna be a blast. We have such a laugh on tour."
