A recap of all things Def Leppard in the year 2016 continuing with the month of September.

Another eventful year for the band has ended and these updates look back at the major events that took place last year.

In September the Summer Tour rolled on with another ten shows played around the USA.

These included the band's last ever show at an Irvine, California venue which was due to be closed.

Joe Elliott's Down 'n' Outz release their long awaited Live DVD (and 2CD) in Japan which had been recorded in December 2014 in Sheffield. Last In Line also confirmed their 'Heavy Crown' UK tour dates.

1st September 2016 - Def Leppard 2016 Summer Tour Darien Center, NY (Show Report)

The band ended the second leg of the Summer Tour 2016 in Darien Center, NY (31st August) and enjoyed the first couple of weeks of September off the road.

2nd September 2016 - Vivian Campbell Announces Nov/Dec UK Tour With Last In Line

Vivian's Last In Line band confirm the dates for their UK tour which were added to many European dates supporting Saxon. The first major tour in support of their 'Heavy Crown' album. 7 shows were announced with more shows added later in Wales/Scotland. - Read More

4th September 2016 - Joe Elliott Still Working On New Songs With Emm Gryner

Em Gryner gave an update on her project with Joe Elliott saying the pair were still writing songs together. An album collaboration which dates back as far as 2011 and still has no release date.

6th September 2016 - 27 Years Ago Steve Clark's Last Appearance With Def Leppard At MTV Awards

The 27th anniversary of Steve Clark's last appearance on a stage with the band at the 1989 MTV Awards. Not his last live show as the performance was playback (with Joe singing live). An early version of 'Adrenalize' album track 'Tear It Down' was played with the music used later re-recorded. - Read More


Down 'n' Outz 2016.

10th September 2016 - Joe Elliott/Down 'n' Outz Live In Sheffield 2CD/DVD Out Soon In Japan

Joe Elliott's Down 'n' Outz 2014 Sheffield DVD was announced for release but only in Japan (21st September). Titled 'The Further Live Adventures Of' and released as a 2CD/DVD set featuring the full concert and all promo videos from their second album. Joe had referenced the release on his radio show.

The 29th anniversary of the band's PSSOM performance on Top of The Pops. The second UK single released from the 'Hysteria' album. - Read More

16th September 2016 - One Year Ago Def Leppard Release Let's Go Single Online

One year since the release of the 'Let's Go' single from the DEF LEPPARD studio album. It had been premiered on Rolling Stone's website the day before and then made available a day later as a digital download with album pre-orders.

23rd September 2016 - Def Leppard Bid Farewell To Irvine Meadows, CA (Show Report)

The 15th and final show at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre took place on 22nd September. The venue closed after its latest concert season in October 2016. The band had first played there with Billy Squier in April 1983 on the Pyromania tour.

22nd September 2016 - Frank Hannon Says Phil Collen Produced Tesla Album Due Spring 2017

Tesla guitarist Frank Hannon said their next studio album produced by Phil Collen will be released in early 2017. An album that was written and recorded on the road during the Summer Tour and during breaks in Sacramento, CA.
