2018 DEF LEPPARD/JOURNEY Co-Headline Tour Dates Set To Be Announced

Def Leppard 2006. By Amy Allegretti

Def Leppard's proposed 2018 co-headline tour with Journey is set to be announced according to a new interview with Neal Schon.

Journey guitarist Neal Schon has been interviewed by Rolling Stone magazine.

During the interview he indicated the tour dates were due to be announced without giving any specific date.

He is "waiting for management" to contact him with the details. The rest of the interview deals with some inner band trouble but also indicates the current Journey line-up will be involved in the tour.

Def Leppard and Journey began their only previous tour in June 2006 to support the YEAH! album.

Phil is shown with Neal Schon in Little Rock, AK on 30th October 2006 when he guested with Journey on 'Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin;'.

The quote from the interview suggests the touring will start in either May or June.

This will likely include a co-headline run in the USA/Canada in the summer.

Journey's bassist Ross Valory first mentioned the possible tour back in June of this year.

Journey's current line up includes singer Arnel Pineda, drummer Steve Smith, keyboardist Jonathan Cain, bassist Ross Valory and guitarist Neal Schon. Only Jonathan, Ross and Neal toured with Def Leppard in 2006.

The original members were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame on 7th April 2017 which saw them briefly reunite on stage with their most famous singer Steve Perry.

Vivian recently said that Def Leppard's 2018 tour will be played in North America, Europe, Japan, Australia and the UK (in late 2018).

2018 Tour With Def Leppard

What will the rest of 2018 hold for Journey? Schon wants to get back on the road. There are already strong indications that a co-headlining tour with Def Leppard will be announced.

"I'm ready," Schon says. "I'm just waiting to hear the word from management." The turmoil of this year coupled with his decision to play the North Bay Fire Relief show without any members of the current Journey might suggest that changes to the band are imminent. But Schon says the lineup won't change.
