Def Leppard played another show on the 2017 North American Tour last night in Fort Myers, FL with 17 songs performed.

The show took place at the Fort Rock Festival beside JetBlue Park.

The band's first time in Fort Myers since 30th January 1993 on the Adrenalize Tour.

The fourth show the band have played in Fort Myers and the first time at this festival.

They headlined the Black Stage alongside Papa Roach, Three Days Grace, Of Mice & Men, Nothing More, Beartooth and Felicity.

The first visit to Fort Myers was in September 1981 at Lee County Civic Center as support to Ozzy Osbourne on the High 'n' Dry tour.

The first headline show was in May 1983 at the same venue during the Pyromania tour.

They returned to this venue ten years later for an In The Round show in January 1993 on the Adrenalize tour.

17 songs were played at last night's show. All 3 new album songs were played in Fort Myers for the first time.

The band used the festivals own lighting rig on the outdoor festival stage but were able to fit in their usual video screens. Joe still did his usual intro for 'Rock On' but there was no Thrust stage for Sav to go out on so he did his short bass intro/solo on Rick's drum riser steps.

Random Trivia - Joe and Phil (and actress Kristen Bell) presented Three Days Grace with their Billboard Music Award in December 2006 for the song 'Animal I Have Become' which was included in their setlist.

Joe Elliott - Dangerous/Phil Collen Intro

"Good evening Fort Myers!. How we doing?. What's going on out there?. We OK?. Are we OK?. Good to be here. Nice to see so many people put there. I can't even see the back of you. That's amazng. How we doing at the back?. How we doing down here?. This is Mr. Phil Collen. And amongst many other things he'll introduce tonight. Here's one from our latest album. This one is called Dangerous."

Joe Elliott - Rock On/Rick Savage Intro

"Thank you. Thank you very much. Been a long day right. It's good to hear you making so much noise though. It really is. Listen to that come on. Let's hear it, let's hear it, let's hear it. Oh yeah. Something snuck up on us this year, took us all by surprise. You may find it kind of hard to believe but this is actually our 40th anniversary year as a band in 2017. 40 count 'em. And we've been coming to these parts of the world for a long time. 1980 was the first time. So that's what 37 years ago since we first played here. We opened for Nugent. We opened for Ozzy. We opened for some great bands and played in front of some great people. And it's just an amazing to think we can play in front of all these people all this time later. And look at you all. Thank you. It's beautiful."

"Of course back in 1977 when it all kicked off if you like. It was a very exciting year back in the UK, where we're from, you know we had great British bands like the Pistols and The Clash. All starting to kick off. And on the other side of the coin we had bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and UFO and AC/DC. All starting to take off and they were very inspiring to a bunch if kids. And back in that summer of '77 I met for the very first time a 16 year old kid who came round to my Mum and Dad's house. Mutual friend introduced us. He came to have a look at my record collection and by the end of the night. We'd said to each other, what do you think about putting a band together and seeing what happens. Well, 40 years later! that then 16 year old kid is still today my best mate. Ladies and gentleman on the bass guitar Mr. Rick Savage."

Joe Elliott - Pre Rock Of Ages Speech

"Oh we like that. We like that a lot. That's a lot of noise coming from out there. Do you think you can make just a little bit more?. Just a little bit more for the boy at the back. Stand up Rick Allen!. As always he will introduce this one for ya."

Joe Elliott - End Of Show Speech

"Fort Myers, Fort Rock, Florida!. Thanks for having us. It's been a real pleasure thank you. Take care of yourselves. Goodnight."

"Once again thank you so much. Real pleasure. Until next time, and there will be a next time. Do us a big favour yeah. Don't forget us and we won't forget you. Goodnight."
