Def Leppard Confirmed To Play SAO PAULO TRIP Festival In September

Def Leppard will return to Sao Paulo, Brazil on 24th September at the new Sao Paulo Trip festival.
The show takes place on 24th September at the 55,000 capacity Allianz Parque football stadium.
Aerosmith are the headliners on the same day as they are at Rock In Rio (see posters/video below). The Sao Paulo Trip festival takes places from 21st September to the 26th.
This news comes almost 20 years after their one and only show in the city on 23rd April 1997 at the Olympia. The second to last date of the 1996/1997 Slang world tour.
Organisers Mercury Concerts have said the following bands will also play - The Who, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses, The Cult and Alice Cooper.
The festival may be linked to the recent news of a 'megafestival' in Santiago, Chile on 29th/30th September featuring Aerosmith headlining above Def Leppard and The Who/Guns N' Roses the day before.
Joe recently confirmed four shows would be played with Aerosmith and one with The Who.
The band had actually announced a show at the same venue as far back as April 2013. A brief video announcement was filmed on stage at during the VIVA! Hysteria residency. Nothing more was ever heard after the video posting.
Tickets for this festival go on sale from 26th April.
The second appearance to be announced in Brazil this year after the Rock In Rio show was announced in March for 21st September.
