Joe Elliott - Pre-Rock On Speech (Partial)

"Wow. This is amazing. Look at this place man. This is great. You think back a long way. We first came to these shores in 1980. 36 years ago. I remember us playing a tiny little club here in Denver opening for Blackfoot. I know there's a least three people who were there because I met them earlier on. And who remembers McNichols Arena?. We made a - remember VHS tapes?. We shot a film called In The Round-In Your Face and a lot of it was shot in McNichols and I think back now. That was a long time ago. Look at all the people who are still coming. This is incredible. It's wonderful, it really is. Sticking with us all these years."

Joe Elliott - Pre-Rock Of Ages Speech

"Oh yeah. I mentioned the McNichols Arena and the fact that we did a couple of nights there back in '87. Back in those days everybody used to get their lighters out. Remember the lighters. Now days it's cell phones so let's have a little experiment shall we. Turn the lights off. Get your phones out. Let's see what it looks like. Now that is f**king beautiful. And just because you've got your cell phones out doesn't mean you have to go all quiet on us. You can keep making noise. It looks good. It needs to sounds good. Come on!. That's great guys."

"So as I mentioned earlier when we look at what we're seeing here tonight. This is, it's actually, it takes your breath away. Not just because we're a mile above seal level. It really is amazing to be able to spend an evening with you and do this. And I hope we can come back again and do it soon. Can you show a little bit of love please to the boy at the back. Stand up Rick Allen. And as usual he will introduce this one for ya."
