Arkansas School for the Deaf

Def Leppard have agreed to pose for a photograph with students from the Arkansas School For The Deaf in Little Rock, AR tomorrow.

As mentioned an online petition was recently started to ask the band to visit the school and pose by their famous sports sign.

The petition page, started by local fan Cary Tyson, has now updated to say the band have contacted them and will pose for the photo tomorrow prior to their show.

The Arkansas School For The Deaf in Little Rock has a number of sports teams named Leopards.

The petition reached almost 1,500 signatures.

Def Leppard are due to play the Verizon Arena in Little Rock, AR. The arena has organised a replica of the sign shown above to be used for the photo with the students and the band. Possibly being taken in the Meet And Greet area.

Success!

9 May 2016 0 Hi all

Great news! The band has graciously agreed to take a photo with students from the Arkansas School for the Deaf. While their schedule doesn't get them in town in time to get to the school, they've agreed to take a picture with the students & a large replica of the scoreboard at Verizon Arena. A giant thanks to the staff at Verizon who helped make this happen. What great community spirit! We're lucky to have them.

We are tremendously grateful for their time, thoughtfulness and promotion of the good work at the school. Please feel free to tweet them your thanks too. Once I have the photo, I'll send it out.

See you Wednesday. I'll let you buy me a relaxing beverage. I'll be the one in the Def Leppard t-shirt.

Def Leppard will meet the Deaf Leopards on Wednesday, marking the end of a successful petition for the British rock band to show support for the Arkansas School for the Deaf.

Cary Tyson, a program officer at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute who started the petition two months ago, said the meeting comes with a slight change of plans.
