Chicago Tribune - Phil Collen Interview Quotes
Joining Def Leppard
"All the songs were written for 'Pyromania' when I joined. I came on to play guitar initially. It turned into something. The sound changed. It got a little more aggressive. All of a sudden we went on tour and it exploded," said Collen, now a main songwriter for the band."
Pyromania Success
"I was living with my mom in London. We were all broke. All of a sudden we were on tour for a year and our album was No. 2 for months behind Michael Jackson's 'Thriller.' That was crazy."
