Def Leppard played a 2016 Summer Tour show last night in Wantagh, NY with 17 songs performed.

The show took place at the 15,000 capacity Nikon at Jones Beach Theater.

The band's first time in Wantagh since 23rd July 2015 on the 2015 world tour.

The 13th show the band have played in this city.

The first visit here took place at the same venue in August 1993 during the last leg of the Adrenalize tour.

Two nights were played at this venue then known as Jones Beach Amphitheatre on the 13th/14th August.

Every show since has been at the same venue under three different names.

The other shows took place in 1996, 2000, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2014 and last year.

In July 2000 Ian Hunter joined the band to sing lead vocals on Mott The Hoople classic 'All The Young Dudes' at the end of the night.

Last night's show was the first time they have played here for three years in a row.

The setlist remained unchanged - from the previous show - which included 'Man Enough'.

Meaning it was played for a second time after its debut in Grand Rapids.

The venue was, as it had been in 2014 and 2015, packed with loud and enthusiastic fans.

Unlike recent shows here there was no bad weather, heavy rain or high winds disrupting the show.

Video to follow of 'Man Enough' and many photos (almost 100).

Joe Elliott - Phil Collen/Dangerous Intro

"Thank you. And good evening Jones Beach. How we doing?. How we doing?!. It's good to be back. Let's have a look at you. Let's have a look at ya. Let's have a look at ya!. When we rolled into town this morning one of the guys. One of the local crew guys said to me, said to our chief. Hey it's the Jones Beach house band back in town. We seem to come here quite a lot and it's a pleasure to do so. Thanks for coming. Thanks for having us. It's gonna be a good night!. Bit of everything for ya tonight. The aformentioned song was from High 'n' Dry. 35 years old today. Happy birthday. You get some old, you get some new. And you'll get some borrowed but not a lot blue. This is Phil Collen. This is one from the new album. This one's called Dangerous!."

Joe Elliott - Vivian Campbell/Armageddon It Intro

"Thank you. Thank you very much. New moon coming. Clear night. It's not raining. This is a good thing. And look who's here. (drum beat) Settle down!. Later dear, later. No this boy down here at the front with me right here. Come a long way to be here tonight in a roundabout fashion. And 36 years ago he left his home town of Belfast in Northern Ireland. Here's the boy who puts the fast in Belfast. Ladies and Gentleman can you make a lot of noise please for a very happy and healthy Vivian Campbell."

Joe Elliott - Pre-Rock Of Ages Speech

"Oh come on then!. You see that's why we like to come back it gets louder every time we come. Can we do that one more time?. . You know I mentioned earlier on how we've been coming to New York on and off for 36 years. I believe the first time was my 21st birthday. We were opening for AC/DC at the Palladium. Fucking hell. 36 years ago. But if you've been with us, if you've followed this band for a long time you'll know. You know it's been a hell of a journey. It's had some ups and downs as things do in life. But we rise and we keep rising to the challenge and nobody does it better than this boy at the back here. Stand up Rick Allen!. And as always he will introduce this one for ya."

Joe Elliott - End Of Show Speech

"Once again Jones Beach, New York. Thank you. A pleasure as always. Until next time. And there will be a next time. Do us a big favour yeah. Don't forget us and we won't forget you. Goodnight."
