Def Leppard played a 2016 Summer Tour show last night in Grand Rapids, MI with 17 songs performed.

The show took place at the 10,000+ capacity Van Andel Arena.

The band's first time in Grand Rapids since 15th August 2008 on the Songs From The Sparkle Lounge tour.

The 7th show the band have played in this city.

The first visit here took place in August 1981 at the Civic Auditorium as support to Ozzy Osbourne.

The next next show in this city would not take place until January 2000 on the Euphoria tour.

The first headline show at the Van Andel Arena.

They have since returned to play shows here in 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2008 - all at Van Andel Arena.

Last night's show was the sixth time the band have played this venue.

The 2008 show was notable as one of the few times Rick Allen has ever played with a support band. He played guest drums with Billy Idol during his song 'White Wedding'.

The setlist remained unchanged? again? - no, it did not.

'Man Enough' made its long awaited debut in Grand Rapids. The delay was revealed to (likely) be the new screen visuals being readied. The same issue with 'Let's Go' making its debut in September 2015.

These new visuals were mostly used on the two bottom video screens. The main screen was a mix of live footage and scenes from the promo video directed by Frank Gryner.

Track 3 from the current studio album has been sound checked recently and was rehearsed in Florida just ahead of the current tour leg starting.

The single and promo video were released at the end of June and it charted on the classic rock charts.

This is the first time the band have played three new album songs in a show since 2008 when either 'Nine Lives', 'C'mon C'mon' were played together with either 'Bad Actress' or 'Go'. And at one show in London - with 'Hallucinate'.

Joe Elliott - Pre-Rock Of Ages Speech

"What a fucking great way to spend a Saturday night. It really is. And look at how many people there are in here tonight. It reminds me of why we keep coming back here!. Wanna do this again one day?. We do. I said earlier it's been a long time since we first set foot in the USA. And it's been a hell of a journey. It's continuing. It's not coming to an end any time soon. But that journey - obviously when you have been around like we have. It's got ups. Its got downs. Its got everything. But the spirit that keeps the thing going is epitomised no more than by this guy at the back here. Stand up Rick Allen!. And as ever he will introduce this one for ya."

Joe Elliott - End Of Show Speech

"Grand Rapids. Thanks for coming. Thanks for being here. Thanks for having us. We'll see you next time. Goodnight."
