Def Leppard performed a playback version of Pour Some Sugar On Me at the Brit Awards 27 years ago on this day in 1989.
The ceremony which took place at the Royal Albert Hall.
This show became infamous for the terrible presenting duo of Mick Fleetwood and Samantha Fox. It was also the first year the ceremony was shown live on BBC TV.
Is is a notable performance in the history of the band was it was the second-to-last ever appearance by Steve Clark in the UK.

Def Leppard were nominated for the second year in a row alongside Erasure (who won), The Christians, Pet Shop Boys and Wet Wet Wet. They lost our to Pet Shop Boys the year before but did not attend as they were on tour in the USA.
