The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro

"Well if you tune in to this station on a regular basis at this time on this particular evening, you will know that you are listening to The Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Good evening everyone. Welcome. Sixty minutes of great music coming up for you right now. Starting off with The Stranglers."

The Motors

"Another band I saw back at the Sheffield Top Rank in those days were this lot from the New Wave era if you like. They were produced by the up and coming new wave producer at the time. He'd done Supercharge. He'd done The Boomtown Rats. He would go on to become the biggest rock producer in the world. His name is Mutt Lange. This band are The Motors."

"And before that we heard from their debut album back in the same year 1977. The Motors produced by the mighty. Multi talented Robert John Mutt Lange. A song called Whiskey And Wine."

DIO

"Well I played a track from the album - from the band Last In Line last week as the album had just been released. Thought I'd actually play the song this particular week. That is the song indeed Last In Line from the band DIO."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week, been a pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at the same time."

"Until then I'm gonna leave you with what I consider to be one of the best American anthems ever written. And it comes from one of my favourite American artists. Tom Petty and hid band The Heartbreakers from 1976 I believe it was with American Girl. Until next week see ya!."
