New Shows 2017
Def Leppard have today been confirmed to play the 2017 Fort Rock and Welcome To Rockville festivals in Fort Myers/Jacksonville, FL.
The first Def Leppard concerts of 2017 which were mentioned in the last few days by ticket site email alerts.
The Fort Myers appearance has now been officially confirmed and announced with Def Leppard headlining alongside Soundgarden.
Both bands will also be playing another festival over the same weekend in Jacksonville, FL.
The Welcome To Rockville Festival in Jacksonville, FL with Soundgarden headlining on 29th April.
The Fort Rock Festival takes place over 29th/30th April 2017 at JetBlue Park at Fenway South in Fort Myers, FL.
Billed as South Florida's biggest rock festival.
The venue was opened in 2012 and is used for Spring training by the Boson Red Sox baseball team. The name Fenway South relates to their own stadium Fenway Park in Boston. This park is usually home to the minor league team Gulf Coast League Red Sox.
As you can see from the photos below the stage is actually located in the park area outside of the stadium. Other artists featured include Soundgarden, A Perfect Circle, Papa Roach, Chevelle and The Offspring.
Last year's event featured Megadeth, Anthrax, Five Finger Death Punch, Sixx A.M. and 3 Doors Down.
Both Vivian and Phil had stated in interviews over the last few months that the band would be touring the USA/Canada in early 2017 with April confirmed as the start date for the tour last month.
It was also mentioned in the press for the new CD/DVD release that touring would go on "throughout the year".
The band last played in Fort Myers on 30th January 1993 for an In The Round show at Lee County Civic Center during the Adrenalize tour.
A similar type of event was played in April 2003 during the X/Ten tour in Zephyrhills, FL.
They played at Livestock 13 alongside bands such as 3 Doors Down, Godsmack, Saliva, Stonesour, and Theory Of A Deadman.
