Def Leppard members Phil Collen and Joe Elliott were interviewed for the All Access radio special and mentioned the new album.

The 50 minute radio special is being broadcast on US radio over the next few days and already has been in some states.

They talked about making new music, how the album was started, Let's Go, Invincible, no songs sounding alike on the album, the song titles being used already by other artists, Man Enough, not caring what people thought about the album, Vivian's health issues during recording and how it influenced the band, Joe recovering from his recent health issues, the Hysteria On The High Seas cruise, the 2016 winter and Summer tours and the possibility of shows elsewhere around the world and how they want the new album to be judged.

At one point Phil talked about the songs 'Let's Go' and 'Invincible'. Explaining how they both came about and evolved as recording went on.

Today marks 37 years since Rick joined the band. He recently spoke of wanting to contribute more to song ideas in the future in his Classic Rock Fanpack interview.

All Access - Phil Collen Interview Quotes

Let's Go

"It really sounded poppy but it was a great song. So initially we done it and we done the poppy version. We came back after - just before we went on tour with KISS. And said no this is gotta be a rock song. This has gotta be smash you in the face kind of rock song. But you know also having this kind of pop kind of vibe to it."

Invincible

"So every song was kind of like that. You know and they started off in this room as a listening thing. That one was done very much as a studio idea. We didn't play it separately or anything thing. But some of the other songs. We took them into you know the recording room. Rick has a drumkit set up and we have a couple of amps. And we just blasted around it - you know like the old days. Like pre production. That's what bands would do. And it's something we haven't done for 20 something years. You know it's like not what we do. We usually - it's a recording thing. It's got nothing to do with playing. We actually you know sit in a room. Get a drum programme going and start overdubbing over that."

"But then a song like Invincible. Rick Allen brought this melody in. This guitar riff. That he'd done on his Garageband. On a keyboard with one finger. And that was pretty amazing and so I played that on the guitar. Viv played this like a Steve Stevens type kind of - chunky rhythm in the room and Joe played guide bass and Rick was playing drums. And we recorded that and then you quantise it. You go and do another layer of guitars. And that's pretty much how we kept doing it. And then you get the right idea and you kind of track it up from there."

"But every song had a different vibe to it. It was like doing a different project for each song. And that was just a wonderful thing to do."
