Def Leppard started the main Adrenalize world tour 23 years ago today on 19th June 1992 in Dublin, Ireland and documentary footage is available.

As mentioned in January this footage was shot at The Point Depot in Dublin in June 1992 when they opened their world tour using the new In The Round stage design.

The live footage shot at this show (and also used by MTV) had been incorrectly labelled as Glasgow (show #2 played on the 21st) including clips used in the 1992 Rockumentary.

As shown in this 25 minute special on Italian station Video Music, the footage was filmed in Dublin with the exterior of The Point venue shown.

The rare footage shows the crew and band setting up and preparing the stage for the first show. They also talk about the upcoming world tour with contributions from all of the band plus the lighting designer, stage manager and sound engineer.

The band had warmed up with 13 club shows around Europe in May/June before starting the main world tour here using the new In The Round staging. After 241 shows they ended the tour with three shows in Mexico at the end of September 1993. It remains the longest tour in their live history and is unlikely to be surpassed.

The show was originally scheduled for the 18th June but then moved to the 19th - as shown on the promo posters below (which you might remember from old site versions).
