Big 100.3 - Phil Collen Interview Quotes

The Self-Titled DEF LEPPARD Album

"We went in to record like you know an EP or kind of a single or something and came out with 12 songs. We've got 14 on the album. So we thought wow we better go and do an album then. And it totally took us by surprise because normally it's a very ongoing kind of laborious process but I think the reasons that we did this album was because we had no pressure. You know no one was making us do anything. Fans weren't really expecting an album. All of a sudden it just appeared. So we done it for the right reasons - why you get into music in the first place is to get out there and kind of create something and share it. We done it all for the right reasons."

"It's very diverse the album. It kind of goes from probably the loudest, heaviest guitars we've done to like really kind of very saltzy. Not a ballad. I don't know how you'd describe it. It's very different from anything we've done but it sounds like Def Leppard from the first bar you hear. So really excited about that."

New Music On Current (US) Tour?

"No we're not gonna - the album comes out in October so we're gonna wait until then. So we can kind of unveil it if you like you know. It's kind of the big unveil."
