On This Day in Def Leppard History - 21st December, the following concerts and events took place. Including Rick Allen's first show with the band in Rotherham, England 37 years ago on this day in 1978.
Rick had joined the band on 27th November following the recording of The Def Leppard EP with guest drummer Frank Noon. Rick replaced original drummer Tony Kenning and played his first gig at Clifton Hall which was also the band's first visit to the town of Rotherham in South Yorkshire.
This was also the first show after the recording of 'The Def Leppard EP'.
Also on this day in 1988 the 'Rocket' master tape was involved in the Lockerbie bombing over Scotland. The tape travelling in the cargo hold of Pan Am flight 103 was apparently found embedded in a tree up to six months later.
Phil Collen's Delta Deep band will play an intimate acoustic show tonight in London. Phil will perform with singer Debbi Blackwell-Cook. The second of two shows in the city.
As of 2015, Def Leppard have played 3 times on this date.
