Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell was recently interviewed by Phil de Fer and mentioned the UK tour.

Vivian says he has been invited by both Black Star Riders and Whitesnake to perform with them in Sheffield.

The Sheffield concert is the last and 102nd show of 2015 and takes place on 19th December at Sheffield Arena.

Vivian last played with Whitesnake when he was still a member of the band on 15th August 1988 at the Memorial Coliseum in Portland, OR, USA. The last show of the 1978/1988 '1978 Album' world tour when he performed with them over 200 times. He can also been seen in the four promo videos for that album.

Def Leppard would play two shows there themselves in October of that year prior to the last show with Steve Clark on 27th October in Tacoma, WA.

Both David Coverdale and drummer Tommy Aldridge were in the band at that time. So a reunion for three members of that line up. As mentioned in a recent Live Blog - the other guitarist Adrian Vandenberg guested with WS at a recent show in Holland.

The other member was bassist Rudy Sarzo who toured with Lep in Ozzy's band in 1981 (along with Tommy Aldridge).

Their current setlist includes at least five or six songs he could play on including 'Give Me All Your Love' - the only recording he did with them was a guitar solo for the US single/video version.

He also performed with Black Star Riders in Germany at the 28th May show in Cologne (a cover of Thin Lizzy's 'The Rocker'). And obviously for multiple shows when they were still Thin Lizzy in 2010/2011.

The same interviewer talked to Joe about the new album back in October. Listen to the interview clip from Vivian below.

Vivian Campbell - Interview Quotes

"It's very much a family. We all know each other. We did shows with Black Star Riders in Germany actually just this past May. And Whitesnake we've toured with in 2008. And you know obviously we've known all those guys. It's a very small industry. We all know each other."

"And as you'd suggested earlier I - technically I could get on stage with all three bands. And Black Star Riders have offered me the opportunity to do so next Saturday in Sheffield at the last show. And then I heard last night that David Coverdale said to Joe. He said do you think Viv would like to get up and perform in Sheffield with Whitesnake?."

"So I never - I honestly never thought that I would ever get on stage with Whitesnake again. So that's quite remarkable to me. So on Saturday night I "may", if we can work out the logistics of this. I may be playing with all three bands."
