The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming to you this week all the way from Houston, Texas. It is in fact a Texan weekend for Def Leppard. Last night we were in Dallas. 18,000 people, incredible. Tonight we're just outside Houston in a place called the Woodlands. And tomorrow night we are in Austin, Texas and we are officially over half way through the tour now which started all the way back in April in Canada and goes all the way through to Sheffield on the 20th of December. And as we are in Texas, what better place to start than with this crowd who are actually from Houston. This, of course, is ZZ Top."

Utopia/Led Zeppelin

"And before that from the album Ra we heard Utopia who I saw open for Led Zeppelin at Knebworth on the 4th of August 1979. One day before Def Leppard signed their record deal. Can you believe that. With a song called Overture: Mountaintop & Sunrise/Communion With The Sun."

Show Outro

"And that my friends from Houston, Texas, or near enough, is about it for this week, been a pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at the same time from Indianapolis on a day off which is always a good thing. Until then I'm gonna leave you with this classic B Side from 1974 from a band that really turned the pop rock world on its head. I am of course talking about the band Sparks. And from the now re released Kimono My House sessions. Originally a B Side this is a brilliant tune called Lost And Found. Until next week see ya!."
