Def Leppard recently played a show in Cincinnati, OH and Joe was pictured wearing a fan made Campbell Tough T-Shirt.

Lep fan Heather posted the photo online and it turns out the T-Shirt was made by another fan who had presented it to Joe.

The shirt features the words "Campbell Tough". This was inspired by the "Kelly Tough" T-Shirt that Sav was seen wearing at the show in Darien Center, NY on 12th July.

The "Kelly Tough 12" T-Shirt was designed in honour of ex-Buffalo Bills (American football) player Jim Kelly who battled cancer in 2013/2014.

The "Campbell Tough" design has obviously been made in support of Vivian Campbell and his ongoing battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma which he was first diagnosed with in March 2013.

The idea for the shirt came from a fan named Jacqueline and has been made by Kim of Artdog Designs. The company is now selling the T-Shirts with the approval of Vivian himself. A portion of the profits are being donated to a charity of his choice.

Full details of the shirt and buy options can be found on the Artdog website linked below.

Many thanks to Debbie and Heather.

Update - Jacqueline has shared the full story of how the T-Shirt idea came about which you can read below.

Lead guitarist of the world famous Def Leppard, Vivian Cambpell, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2013. He has had a recent relapse, but continues his fight. Show your support for Viv, with this original Campbell Tough t-shirt as worn by Joe Elliott!

A portion of the proceeds will go to a charity of Vivian Campbell's choice!

Campbell Tough Story by Jacqueline Koszuta Sandel

I wanted to get the band "Welcome to Buffalo" welcome bags when they came to Darien Lake on July 12th, 2015 since I had Meet & Greet tickets. Knowing how much we all love our hometown hero Ex-Buffalo Bills Quarterback Jim Kelly I thought it would be a good idea for them to wear the shirts at the very end of the show when they occasionally have on a Soccer shirt, or Hockey Jersey of the hometown team. I didn't have much time to explain everything to the guys because the Meet & Greets were very rushed and there just wasn't time. In the "Welcome Bags" each had a KELLY TOUGH Tee, a copy of the KELLY TOUGH book written by Jim's daughter Erin (to explain the significance of the love for Jim Kelly), and a special shirt I designed after Jim's shirt for Viv after hearing of his return of cancer. The way he has chosen (with doctor approval) to keep touring while dealing with this said everything about his character...he certainly is...CAMPBELL TOUGH!!!

I was thrilled to see Sav wearing it at the encore of our show and he did indeed get a great response from everyone there when they saw his shirt!! It was the talk of the town and even Jill Kelly (Jim's wife) was excited to hear he wore it as she tweeted!!

I wasn't sure if the guys would ever really wear the CAMPBELL TOUGH shirts as I hadn't seen a photo of any of them with it on till Heather's photo with Joe Elliott with him wearing it was posted on Booty's site!!!! [a facebook page] As soon as I saw the photo I commented on Booty's site how cool it was to see him in the shirt I had made for the guys in honor of Viv.....which eventually then ended up with others wanting the shirt to support Viv's fight.

I realized after the Meet & Greet I never even told the guys in the band my name or left anything in their Welcome Bags that this was from me. In my heart I knew and that was all that mattered as I wasn't trying to do more than welcome them and say thank you for the music all these years.

I had hoped to be able to tell them why I chose this time for a Meet & Greet but again not enough time to say all you want. My husband and I have been Leppard fans for 28 years, we went to every concert the guys played in this area or surrounding areas if they weren't actually in our town that tour.

We were at the last LEPPARD/KISS concert at that exact venue 11 months prior together. Then my husband suddenly passed away. I felt I owed it to my husband to at least tell the band how much their music meant to us both and just thank you....only I didn't get the chance and I'll be forever wishing for that time back to have told them.

So that's the whole story behind the CAMPBELL TOUGH Tees.
