Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott has commented on the upcoming Wembley Stadium NFL show before the Oakland Raiders/Miami Dolphins game.

The Oakland Raiders will play the Miami Dolphins at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 28th September. Kick off is at 6pm. Joe says the band will play 15 minutes before kick off meaning only one or two songs are likely to be performed. US band Train played three songs before a game in 2012.

Joe was speaking during two radio interviews yesterday - both show pages are linked below.

The appearance was announced on 26th August by the band in a video message on NFLUK.com.

Def Leppard played Wembley Stadium once before at the April 1992 Freddie Mercury Tribute show. Vivian's first major appearance with the band - sadly he won't be joining them for this return.

This will be the band's first UK appearance since 14th December 2011 at Wembley Arena. The final show of the Mirrorball world tour.

11th September - Joe Elliott Radio Interview Quotes

KFAB-AM

"Yes we are and that's gonna be a lot of fun. We perform about 15 minutes before kick off. When it's Superbowl they keep it special for the half time and we totally get that but we're gonna kind of open the show up if you like which should be fun you know they'll be 90,000 - it sold out in like three minutes and it's in London. This is not in San Francisco or - this is crazy for it to sell out that quickly. So and the fact that's it's gonna be on TV and all that kind of stuff. It's a big deal so we're really looking forward to doing that."

KX92 Radio

"Well we've got the - we're playing Wembley Stadium on the 28th September for the NFL so that's gonna be a crazy, a crazy weekend. We've got that at the end of the month. Then we're gonna start - then everybody goes home."
