Stoner aka Colin Bentley passed away earlier this week according to Joe who also dedicated a song to him.

Joe performed the song 'Suicide City' with the band (including Stoner) at their reunion show in London on 11th October.

Organised by lead singer Richard "Kid" Strange the show took place at London's South Bank Centre in the Queen Elizabeth Hall. It was their first concert since 1978.

The Joe Elliott Show - 22nd November 2014 Quotes

"And when we come back. Well if I mention the name Colin Bentley, most rock fans won't know who I'm talking about. But If I mentioned the word Stoner you'll know exactly who I mean if you are a fan of the Doctors Of Madness. And sadly in this last week he passed away after a long illness just a month or so after the one and only Doctors Of Madness gig since 1978 and I was there and it was a magnificent moment and we are gonna be celebrating the life and times and music of Stoner after the break."

"Coming in three second shy of 16 minutes, that has to be one of the longest songs ever played on this radio station and what a magnificent piece of work it is. The song is called Mainlines. It's from an album called Late Night Movies, All Night Brainstorms from 1976. The debut album of the Doctors Of Madness featuring the fantastic talents of Stoner on bass who sadly passed away last week. Another fallen warrior. God bless ya."

"Right so I'm gonna dedicate this next one to the memory of Stoner. This is Hawkwind."
