Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen will release his autobiography in October according to a listing on Amazon's UK/US websites and it's title has also been revealed.

'Photographs: My Life With Def Leppard' is a 288 page hardbook book published by Atria Books and written by Phil along with Chris Epting. It has a release date of 28th October and is currently priced at 12 pounds/22 dollars.

Phil first mentioned the book, described as a "revelatory and redemptive memoir", in November 2013 during a ManrazeRockline appearance. He has been working on it with journalist Chris Epting since summer 2013.

The book is now available for pre order. Shown below are previous quotes by Phil about the book. You don't need me to spot the slight mistake in the book description.

Phil Collen Photographs: My Life With Def Leppard - Book Description

A revelatory and redemptive memoir from the lead guitarist of the legendary band Def Leppard - the first book ever written by one of its members - chronicling the band's extraordinary rise to superstardom and how they've maintained it for three decades.

Meet Phil Collen. You may know him as the lead guitarist in Def Leppard. Maybe you've heard about him as the rock star who gave up alcohol and meat more than twenty-five years ago. Most likely you've seen him shirtless - in photos or in real life - flaunting his impeccably toned body to appreciative female fans. For good reason, people call him the Thunder God.

But it wasn't always like this. Collen started out a rock and roll wild child, enjoying days and nights of booze, women, and anything else that caught his fancy. He slogged it out in pub bands for years, long before Def Leppard formed and transformed - all thanks to a little album called Pyromania - from unknowns to icons, from playing openers in near-empty arenas to headlining in those same stadiums and selling them out every night. But as Collen found out, true overnight success is a myth. Like the other band members, he had to struggle and fight his way to the top; in the end, he says, "our work ethic saved us." Just as it still does.

This is Collen's story, but it's also an amazing underdog tale featuring a bunch of ordinary blue-collar lads from the toughest parts of London who rose to mega-stardom, overcoming incredible odds. Featuring personal, never-before-seen photos of Def Leppard on stage and off, Photographs is a fascinating account of the failures, triumphs, challenges - including a drummer who lost an arm - and rock-hard dedication it takes to make dreams come true.

Rockline November 2013 - Phil Collen Interview Quote

"Yeah that should be out - should be next year I think. We've already got a few chapters. It's Chris Epting a friend of mine is actually - he come up with the idea actually and he's been writing all this stuff and Helen's been helping me as well and we're getting it all together and it's really taking shape and I'm loving how it's come out. It's an autobiography and it's - you know I've been reading a lot of those books. I love the Keith Richards one. Some of these books are egocentric or something so you have to be very careful when you're talking about yourself all the time and also you gotta make it interesting. So I'd like to think we're actually walking the fine line of keeping it interesting and not too egocentric."

Radioscreamer November 2013 - Phil Collen Interview Quote

"I'm doing a book as well there's an autobiography and I'm doing it with Chris Epting who's a writer here in California who's amazing so yeah that'll be out hopefully some time next year. So we're working on that we've got a bunch of that finished already."
