Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott has given another new update on Vivian Campbell's health situation.
Joe once again says that Vivian will be fully fit and able to play on the 42-date Summer Tour 2014 with KISS. The tour kicks off on 23rd June in Salt Lake City, UT and is now just 13 days away.
As you can see below "the heavy metal band's" guitarist Vivian will continue his treatment before, during and after the tour.
The intensive treatment Joe mentions for after the tour may be a reference to something Vivian posted on his facebook page back in March. He mentioned getting a "stem cell transplant" in the near future in reply to a fan who had undergone the same treatment. This might also explain the unusual tour scheduling with 21 dates packed into August including three '3-Nights' in a row in that month alone.
The tour currently ends on 31st August with rumours of a show at Foro Sol stadium in Mexico for early September yet to be confirmed. After that KISS plan to continue their own world tour while Lep will finish their album and resume touring in Spring 2015.
Planet Rock - Joe Elliott Interview Quotes
The heavy metal band's guitarist Vivian Campbell has been battling cancer, but Joe is confident he will be well enough to join them on tour.
He enthused: ''Viv wasn't here for the writing session, because we wanted him to concentrate on what he's doing. But, basically, Vivian is in remission. It's just continuous work for him because he feels more of an energy, not just locking himself away, he wants to work.
''Who are we to argue with him, he's having constant treatment to keep it at bay, and then when the tour is over he's going to obviously go in for more intense treatment. So, he's in great spirits, and he's definitely doing the tour.''
