Tavis Smiley Show - Episode Details
"Music legends Savage (left) and Elliott (right) reflect on their careers with the English rock band Def Leppard."
"Joe Elliott and Rick Savage are still making the music that put their English group, Def Leppard, on the map. The pop-metal band has legions of fans around the world and has sold more than 100 million records worldwide. Both hailing from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, the two bandmates came together when singer-songwriter-musician Elliott joined Atomic Mass, a group co-founded by bass guitarist Savage, a football/soccer talent who chose music as a career over professional sports. Savage has continued to rock with the band despite a Bell's Palsy diagnosis in the 90s. Elliott has worked with several side projects through his career, including the band, Down 'N' Outz. The still-mega-popular band has partnered with various military companies for a 42-city national tour to support U.S. troops."
