Planet Rock - Joe Elliott Interview Quotes

2015 Studio Album

"Def Leppard's gonna be really busy next year. We'll have a new album out in Spring/Early Summer."

"Well we've done 15 songs so far. We went in in February to write three or four songs. We kind of were in February - this is the thing about the industry at the moment. Nobody really knows here it is and where it's going. Even we don't but luckily we kind of live in our own little bubble so it doesn't matter what we think. But we went in thinking well we'll do an EP cause I don't think anybody cares about albums any more. But then we were writing these four songs we actually wrote twelve. It's like well we've just written an album then and then all of a sudden everybody's buying albums again and vinyl's taking off.

"And then we got back together in May and we - just to work on those twelve - and we came up with another three. So we've got 15 songs cooking at the moment. It's nuts. Three of four of them we could actually release tomorrow but the rest of them need a lot of work. But we're gonna - as soon as I get home after this tour's finished. I'm gonna go straight back in the studio last week of December or so and get a bit more work done. But it's sounding good. It's - I don't know how to explain - musically it's hard to pin point what it is. There's a couple of things that are obviously us and there's a couple of things that a band our age should be doing. You know a little bit more adventurous. A little bit more off the beaten track but still has our stamp on it if you like."
