Metal Talk - Paul Guerin/Guy Griffin Interview Quotes

Guy - "Some of the venues are the same venues but obviously it's a very different thing you know. It's fun to do. It's a challenging thing musically as well for us to do because it's a bit different from The Quireboys."

Guy - "Well yeah that's why we were sort of kind of put together really with Joe. And it's funny you know, you've got two sides. You've got Def Leppard, The Quireboys - very different bands but they still are taking the influence from that era of Mott The Hoople and all that. So yeah it was a fantastic thing and it was all by accident in a way."

Paul - "And the thing as well is some of the songs presented to us. I mean, I wasn't that familiar with them. No one's as big a fan as he is. And he's a musical expert on - you know he knows the B Sides to the B Sides and whatnot. So that was great for us. It opened a whole new thing like the point he was trying to make is he's trying to just bring these songs back to people who aren't familiar or were familiar and forgot. he's says they didn't deserve to be buried"

Guy - "Especially in America as well where it's like it's done really well. We've actually had some Number One radio hits over there. And those, especially on the first album. Those songs weren't that well know in America. Some of them anyway. You know and that's the first time they've been like a new song really."

Guy - "Every singer's a bit different."

Paul - "Joe spends a lot of time on his own warming up before a show. You know because that's just what he does. Especially with Def Leppard. You know the arena things. That's his thing so the hour and a half before the show you don't see him because he's doing his thing you know. And we're doing our thing but you know he's a great fella to work with. Good egg."
