Planet Mosh- Joe Elliott Interview Quotes

2015 Studio Album

"No well we didn't - we got together in February at my studio down in Dublin to write two or three songs - four songs. So we'd have an EP to put out you know and see what happened. But we write 12 and when we got together in February we made the decision to do that in maybe October. In October an EP was the way to go. By February it wasn't any more. And that's the thing with the music industry. It changes so fast we haven't got a clue what it's doing either."

"So it's like well all we can do, is do what we feel comfortable doing. We can't be fawning to anybody. We don't need to fawn to a label. We aren't signed to anybody. So this is the first time that we've honestly gone into a recording situation without worrying about what anybody thinks. Or worrying about what they're gonna think when we do deliver it. It's like let's just write and see what we come up with and all of a sudden we just got like - I don't know it just started flowing out of us."

"We came out of a month's worth of recording/writing session with 12 songs. On the go, not finished but three or four of them were ready to put out right there. And then we got back together in May for a couple of weeks and we came up with another three. When we were only supposed to be working on the 12 that we'd written. So it's like now we've got 15 percolating you know so there's gonna be an album. Absolutely there's gonna be an album."

Timescale For Release?

"End of the Spring, early Summer hopefully."

Having Own Studio Easier?

"Oh yeah. It makes it a lot easier because there's no clock ticking. No red light fever. No wheel going around telling you how many dollars per second you're spending. It doesn't cost anything to work at my place. They all stay with me. Everybody could just work in our pyjamas all day if we want. You don't have to get up and get dressed and go anywhere. You just wander downstairs to the basement and there's the studio you know."
