Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen has been interviewed by The Pulse Of Radio and talked about the 2015 studio album.

Rick says the band have up to 17 songs ready for the new album and are around 84 percent finished with one more recording session to go.

As explained by Phil in June, Rick has contributed a song to the album. This is potentially the first full song to be credited to Rick who has previously only contributed to a handful of tracks as a writer.

Rick also played an acoustic drum kit during the February/May sessions in Dublin.

Phil recently confirmed there will be a new recording session in January 2015 as part of finishing up the album for its early summer release.

The Pulse Of Radio - Rick Allen Interview Quotes

2015 Studio Album

"We've actually been recording for quite a while. I've been over to Joe's place on two occasions now, for extended periods. We've got a good 16 or 17 songs that I would say, when I left were 80, 85 percent [done]. So, I know there's another session coming up. I think I'm pretty much done with my parts."

"I don't think we need to go into that kind of expense, and with technology these days, it's fantastic."

"Once I've been over there, I've been in the room, seen the whites of their eyes - y'know, we've all worked together. The finishing touch is really all it's about. It's just technology and working in my own studio at home and just sending the files over."

Rick Allen Song

"Everyone was coming even Rick Allen you know who doesn't usually do that came in with a couple of great ideas and you know we're doing one of the songs that he started - that he brought in so that's really cool. That's a different dynamic."
