The Second Down 'N' Outz Album

Joe - "You just dragged me out of the studio. I have a young lady called Sinead Madden who works with us in the production department when she's not a working musician. She plays with people like Clannad. She's currently impersonating Paganini for me on a song called Marionette. And we've just done a song called Violence. Which is off the Mott album were again we have another kind of Paganini style mad guitar. Sorry, violin playing."

"And it's going very, very well. It's gonna be a ten track album I believe. Maybe an eleven track record. And I've only got a couple of songs left to sing and we're kind of doing all the - you know we've got the ground work done. All the backing tracks are finished. Now it's all the kind of glossy stuff like the violins and string arrangements that you always do at the end."

"So I'm hoping to get it finished cause you know we've got promo for this and there's lots of other stuff on the go. I'm kind of in and out I'm gonna come back to this in November and I want to get it done by the end of the year. I'm not trying to rush it cause I've got no label telling me it has to be delivered for Christmas. It'll be finished when it's good. And I'll put it out myself when I feel like it you know."

"I love the fact that we don't have them ties that we had that were as I like to call it the Hamster wheel. Tour, album, tour, album. It's like you know enough. This is an artistic statement not like some kind of commercial venture that has to be delivered at a certain time or you miss your window of opportunity. My window of opportunity is just doing this record is taking me out of my kind of regular situation. Which is you know extremely enjoyable but it's also nice to get away from it now and again after 35 years. And do something that I could never attempt to do in Def Leppard. It's a lot of fun to do and you know what. I'm more pleased with the fact that what it does is it highlights some songs that I just think are tragically ignored."
