The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro/Def Leppard

"Well that's it then. It's done, it's finished over. Mott The Hoople tour is done. Will we ever see them play live again? It's a very good question. I hope so one day you never know but I just saw all five shows and in celebration of the fact that Mott The Hoople were playing live all over Great Britain. I'm gonna do a show tonight where every single song is a live track. Yes, we're gonna go for a live one. Loads of stuff from those classic live albums that you'd expect like U.F.O., Thin Lizzy, Peter Frampton. I'm starting off though with this brand new one from yours truly. Def Leppard from the VIVA! Hysteria album. This is an old B-Side that's 33 years old this year."

"I remember when we wrote that song all those years ago. It was actually written so that we had something that we could just jam on for an encore. Get the people on their feet and have a real good time with. Who'd have thought 34 years later we would be playing it again. From the VIVA! Hysteria collection that is Def Leppard with an old, old B-Side. Originally it was the B-Side of Hello America from the On Through The Night album. But goes back even before then in fairness. Good Morning Freedom in the song."

Show outro/AC/DC

"I saw AC/DC many times back in Sheffield in the late 70s as a fan and lo and behold when I got together with the guys. The second tour we ever did of Great Britain was with AC/DC. Opening for them on the Highway To Hell tour and what a fantastic learning curve for the young a fledgling Def Leppard. Their AC/DC from the album If You Want Blood, You Got It, Problem Child. And that my friends brings us to the end of this particular live show. Fantastic to be able to play so many live tracks. Until next week see ya!"
