The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

VIVA Hysteria! DVD/Show Intro

"Evening everybody and welcome to the Joe Elliott show right here on the very wonderful planet Rock. I'm home to a very wet and windy Dublin and glad you could join me been in the studio all week helping to mix the live sound for the VIVA Hysteria! DVD which will be released later in the year. More information as I get it. Great show for you this week including an exclusive first ever play of the brand new Black Star Riders track. But to get the show going we're gonna go right back to the 60s with Robert Plant."

Emm Gryner

"That's a song called Christopher by Emm Gryner from an album she did many years ago called Asian Blue. Now here's an interesting fact. The Christopher in the song is actually Commander Chris Hadfield who until recently was up in space in the Space Station.. He's a Canadian, Emm's a Canadian and they've known each other for a long time hence her writing a song about him. Interesting fact is while he was in space he became the first person to ever record a song in space. He did a version of David Bowie's Space Oddity. I'm sure you've seen about it in the news this week. Emm Gryner did the arrangement of the backing track and played piano on it sent it up to him and he did his vocal on an iPad while he was orbiting the planet. Fascinating stuff. Check out the video on YouTube it's really worth having a look at."

Pat Travers

"From 1976 his debut album that is Pat Travers with Medley Parts 1 and 2. I'll never forget the first time I saw Pat Travers opening for the Sensational Alex Harvey Band at the Sheffield City Hall in 1976 and they absolutely tore the place to pieces."
