KFM 94.5 - Joe Elliott Interview Quote

Def Leppard toured here in the mid 90s. Any fond memories of being here?

"Yes. We did Durban, Cape Town and Joburg. I was reminded last night when we had a dinner out last night - I don't know where it was but it was awesome. The promoter guy was telling me that. I actually didn't remember it as a Cape Town incident but I do now having been reminded. We actually had the gates held. We wouldn't let anybody in the building of the football stadium we were playing in until we'd finished the game of soccer that we were playing. After soundcheck we got 22 people to play and no they're not opening the doors until we get a result. So just goes to show the music's very important but it's not totally number one. Not when you're playing soccer. We've gotta finish the game then we can rock and roll."
