On This Day in Def Leppard History - 5th August, the following concerts and events took place. Including Rick Allen's first gig back after his accident in August 1986 in Cork, Ireland. The first of six Irish warm-up shows before the Monsters Of Rock tour.

Also on this day the band signed their first record contract with Phonogram in 1979 at Allen family home just outside Sheffield.

In 1983 the single 'Rock Of Ages' was released in the UK. The second single taken from the 'Pyromania' album which reached number 41 in the UK singles chart.

In 2002 the single 'Now' was released in the UK. The first single taken from the 'X/Ten' album which reached number 23 in the UK singles chart.
