The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro/54th Birthday

"Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday dear meeee, Happy Birthday to me. Evening all and welcome to the Joe Elliot show on Planet Rock. It's not actually my birthday it was on Thursday but I'm still gonna play this one the less. And dedicated to anybody else out there that's had a birthday this week, Happy Birthday wherever you are. That from the White Album is The Beatles with Birthday."

Mike Shipley/Let It Go

"Now all good days are often tempered with bad ones and you may have read this week about the sad passing of Mike Shipley. A fantastic sound engineer that's been around since - I think his first session ever was the Sex Pistols back in 1976 and he's worked with some incredible bands. He was Def Leppard's main engineer from 1981 to 1993. All the way from the High 'n' Dry album through Pyromania, Hysteria and he co-produced with the band the Adrenalize album. More of that later on. But I'm gonna play you something that we did with Mike, in fact it was the first song that we ever did together."

Mike Shipley/White Lightning

"And when we come back a song that's already pretty poignant but it's become more poignant this week. Written about Steve Clark back in the days just after Steve had passed away from the Adrenalize album that's Def Leppard there with White Lightning. A song that was co-produced by the late Mike Shipley."

Show outro

"And that my friends is it for this week been a pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week until then Roger if you'll get the bell cymbal ready and boys get your hand claps in motion. I shall leave you with this from the first Queen album this is Liar. Until next week see ya!."
