On This Day in Def Leppard History - 11th September, the following concerts and events took place. The band are due to play in Albuquerque, NM tonight which will mean they'll have played 13 times on this date. The 40th show of the Rock Of Ages Tour 2012 takes place at the Sandia Casino Amphitheater.
In 1983 the band played the second of two sold out nights at the Great Western Forum in Los Angeles. They were joined onstage by Queen guitarist Brian May and the audio recording of the show was finally released in 2009 as the bonus disc with the 'Pyromania Deluxe Edition'.
A show on this day in 1978 at the The Limit Club in Sheffield inspired a media reviewer to use the phrase 'Bludgeon Riffola' to describe the band's sound. This prompted them to take the negative comment and use it as the name of their own record label which still exists today.
