Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen has contributed a song to the latest album by Mitch Malloy.
Phil played co-wrote and played guitar on the song 'As Long As I'm With You' with co-writer C. J. Vanston (who contributes keyboards) which appears on the album 'Mitch Malloy II'. The album was released on 1st October 2011.
The song is a mid-paced and very melodic ballad lasting 4:57 minutes featuring a short guitar solo by Phil and some very distinctive guitar parts during the chorus. Phil also does a lot of typical sounding solo work during the songs outro.
Mitch was interviewed by Hardrockhaven in November 2011 and spoke of how this collaboration came about. He also talks about how he was asked to join Van Halen just before the 1996 MTV Awards incident with David Lee Roth (quite timely given they are just about to release their first new material with him since 1984 on Tuesday).
Listen to a sample of the song below and follow the Amazon links for more information on the album.
